"Like" significa "gustar" (y también "caer bien") en español y es uno de los verbos más usados del inglés. Es un "stative verb", es decir, un verbo que describe un estado de ánimo o una forma de ser. Este tipo de verbos no tienen gerundio, es decir, no acaban en "-ing". Últimamente se ha puesto de moda acabar los "stative verbs" en gerundio usando inglés informal. Parece ser que esto comenzó desde que en la televisión se hizo famoso un anuncio que decía la palabra "loving".

Como las reglas del lenguaje se crean a partir del propio lenguaje, no sabemos si será aceptado el gerundio en este tipo de verbos dentro de unos años.

ENUNCIADOS CON "TO LIKE" - Present simple: I do not like to go to the mall every Sunday. (A mí no me gusta ir al centro comercial todos los domingos.) - Presente perfecto simple: No one has ever liked that band.
